The method to get that parched Sierra foothill look is to wet the surface, apply the Matte Medium, sprinkle on Burnt Grass WS foam, sprinkle on Earth Blend foam,
add sharp accent rock along edges & in gullies (decomposed greenstone or granite), highlight with Green Turf blend WS foam where water would have remained the longest,
add Weeds WS foam sparingly as accent.  I'll come back later and add some vegetation and tree litter.  The dirt paint should be allowed to show through.
